About the Park Keoladeo Ghana National Park is located in Bharatpur and was earlier known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. UNESCO has listed it as World Heritage site. One of the Asia's best National Parks, it occupies an area of 29 sq km it derives it name from an ancient Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva. It is a haven of about 380 resident and migratory birds. October -March is the best time to catch up with colorful birds. There are plenty of water bodies throughout the park that increase your chances of bird watching. Migratory birds at Bharatpur bird sanctuary include, several species of Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits, etc. Animals found here are Golden Jackal, Striped Hyaena, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, Nilgai, Sambar, Blackbuck and Wild Boar. How to reach: Only 2 km away from Bharatpur Air: Nearest airport is Agra. Rail: Bharatpur is well connected through rail with Agra, Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai.
