Junagarh Fort

Junagarh Fort is an impressive fort located in the city of Bikaner. It was built in 1588 AD by Raja Rai Singhji, the sixth ruler of Bikaner, who ruled from 1571 to 1611 AD. It is bordered by a fortified wall which could be one of the reasons that this fort was never conquered. The fort is known for its fabulous architecture and interiors dressed up with delicate mirror work, classic miniature paintings and beautifully carved marble structures that are a treat to the eyes.

The complex of the Junagarh Fort encompasses buildings such as Moon Palace, Phool Palace, Karan Mahal, Rang Mahal, Anup Mahal, Durga Niwas, Suraj Pol, Har Mandir and Fort Museum. Head to the museum and see the royal jewelry, jars, carpets, weapons, treaties and manuscripts.
