Shiv Bari Temple

Surrounded by a fortified wall, the beautiful Shiv Bari Temple is located 6 km away from Bikaner. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was built by Dungar Singh in the 19th century. It is also known as the Laleshwar Mahadeo Temple. In the sanctum rests a four faced black marble statue of Lord Shiva.

Shiv Bari Temple houses a bronze statue of Nandi bull (Lord Shiva's vehicle) facing the Shiva Lingam. One of the walls of the temple is adorned with an attractive painting of Nandi bull, the Lord's vehicle. Local people of the area make sure they visit the temple on every Monday as this day is considered the most auspicious day for worshipping Lord Shiva in Hindu religion.

The complex of Shiv Bari Temple features resplendent domes, sculpted columns and the awesome pavilions. As you stroll in the premises of the temple you will notice two huge water reservoirs which are known as bawaris.
