Nahargarh Fort
Falling under the defense ring of the city, Nahargarh Fort was constructed to protect Amber, the then capital of the rulers of Jaipur. Later the successive rulers made their contribution by making new additions to the fort. Today the old structures are not in a great condition but are still attractive for sightseeing. Occupying an important place in the history of Rajasthan, the fort gives a picturesque view of the Pink City. It is also known as the Tiger Fort. Madhavendra Bhavan is an important apartment of the fort which was especially built by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II for his adorable nine queens. All the suites were alike and beautifully decorated with frescoes. While exploring the fort if your stomach starts growling, straight away head to Durg cafeteria which is located just above the entrance. Munch on the tasty refreshments here and continue with your tour.
