Nagaur Fair

Nagaur Fair, JodhpurNagaur is an unusual town of Rajasthan where Nagaur Fair is held annually during the month of January and Feburary. It is the second largest cattle fair of Rajasthan, Pushkar Fair being the largest one with both religious and economic significance.

Cattle trading, mainly camel trading is the highlight of this fair. Well bred cattle like cows, bullocks, camels and horses are bought and sold here. Traders clean their cattle and embellish them with the best of clothes and jewelry. Flowers are also used for making them look more beautiful. People from different parts of the country come here for commercial activities. The cattle here are known for their physical fitness and hence their prices are high. Their owners are equally dressed up in colorful turbans and jewelry flaunting their big mustaches.

The best way to know the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan is by participating in the fair that reflects its great traditions and customs.

It is a four day celebration which takes you to a wonder land which is full of fun and excitement. Here you can get best quality of handicrafts and mirchi (chillies) from 'mirchi bazaar'.

Several communities of entertainers have always been an essential part of Rajasthani festivities. Dance and music is present in their blood and their arresting performances speak volumes about it. The fire dance in which the valiant male dancers perform on a bed of burning coals until they reach a hypnotic state draws huge crowds.
