Can even opt for jeep safaris Accommodation: There are plenty of comfortable hotels for every budget around the national park. About the park Nestled in the Aravalli Hills, it was once the hunting ground for the maharajas of Alwar. It is a famous natural habitat of the king of jungle. The Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1958 and came under the "Project Tiger" as a tiger reserve in 1979. Most of its vegetation consists of dry deciduous type: Dhok, Khair, Tendu, Ber, Surwal and Goria. The Park has a large population of deer species—Nilgai, Sambar and Chital.Indian Porcupine, Hyaena, Jungle Cat, Indian Palm Civet and Leopard can be seen roaming around. Avian species are also there in a large number. Notable ones are Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Spur Fowls, White Breasted Kingfishers, Golden Backed Woodpeckers, Great Indian Horned Owl, Quails, Partridges, Serpent Eagle, Tree Pies, Crested Serpent Eagles, Parakeets, Drongos, Sunbirds and Vultures. Best time to visit is winter though chances of spotting tiger are more in summer.
