Udaipur
Udaipur is famous across the globe for its incredible Lake Palace built in the middle of Lake Pichola and the stunning City Palace. Lake Palace: The most well known destination of Udaipur. It is an apt place for romance and fairytale weddings and honeymoon as it is a rare palace located in the blue waters. It covers an area of 1.5 hectare. Once an abode of the royals, it now serves as a royal accommodation for the tourists. It is a heritage hotel providing world- class facilities to the tourists. City Palace: It is the largest palace (304 meters in height and 244 meters in length) of Rajasthan constructed in granite and white marble. Its foundation was laid in 1725 by Maharana Udai Singh of the Sisodia Rajput clan. The palace overlooks Pichola Lake. The majestic palace encompasses several buildings, museum and lush green gardens with fountains. Sahelion Ki Baari: This is a beautiful garden located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake. It was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the 18th century. He even designed the garden which shows how creative he was. He dedicated it to his Queen. It was the perfect place for her to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Jagdish Temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu and was built in 1651 A. D by Maharana Jagat Singh I. Other excursions of Udaipur are Pratap Memorial, puppet museum, Jag Mandir and Fateh Sagar Lake. Mewar Festival is an important festival of Udaipur which is celebrated for eighteen days. Marking the advent of spring, it is dedicated to music, dance and fireworks. Scan the bazaars of Udaipur for beautiful puppets, wooden toys, brightly colored dresses, tie-and-dye saris, chunaris, ghagras and turbans, colorful bangles, hand painted textile, cane furniture, funky silver jewelry, wall hangings and paintings. You are bound to be delighted with the city’s charms as well as the shopping options.
