Lake PicholaBuilt by Maharana Udai Singh II, Lake Pichola is an incredible artificial lake dotted with two beautiful islands called Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir. The waters of the lake shimmer like gold in the dawn and become serene and peaceful in the moonlight at night. How romantic! Set amidst the lake is the stunning Lake Palace which falls under the category of Heritage Palace Hotel. Its beauty is simply beyond words. Fateh Sagar LakeFateh Sagar Lake is a favorite with lovers as it is the most appropriate place to spend some quality time with your beloved. Situated in the north direction of Lake Pichola, the lake was built by Maharana Jai Singh in the 17th century. Later it was reconstructed and extended by Maharana Fateh Singh and hence it was named after him. Aravali Hills in the backdrop add more flavor to the lake. Nehru Park, a garden island is an important attraction built in the middle of Fateh Sagar Lake. Rajsamand LakeAlso known as Rajsamundra lake, Rajsamand Lake is a grand lake receiving water from river Gomti. Its embankments boast of beautiful cenotaphs and finely carved arches. This lake has a dam. The lake was built in the 17th century by Maharana Raj Singh. It also houses five 'toranas' (weighing arches) on which the Maharajas would sit and weigh themselves in gold and then give it to the brahmans. The charming walls of the pavilions on the lake are adorned with pictures of the Sun, Birds and various Gods. Jaisamand LakeMaharana Jai Singh constructed the bewitching Jaisamand Lake in 1685. It is the second largest artificial lake in Asia. The lake is surrounded by two beautiful palaces which were especially constructed by the king for his adorable queens. It also houses a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva where people come for taking the blessings of the Divine. In the close vicinity of the lake lies Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary which is a home to animals such as panther, wild boar, deer, four horned Antelopes (a rare species) and mongoose.
